The Journey

I feel like everyone has the goal in life to find their purpose, and some are blessed to find it early. I have been living in my purpose more than half my life and didn't even know it. I became an aunt at 8 years old and that was my first experience with childbirth and childcare. Throughout the years I became that friend or relative who would go to doctor's appointments, download a pregnancy app and celebrate monthly changes, come over to hold the baby so they could have a bath, be in the room during delivery, and babysit. My mom always called me "the baby whisperer" because kids loved me from the moment I interacted with them. I became a preschool teacher after obtaining my B.A. in Human Development and continued teaching for 4 years. I was introduced to the role of being a doula through a friend and now mentor on social media. I was intrigued and inspired by her passion. After extensive research I realized the one thing I had been passionate about my entire life could be my career. I immediately began trainings and found that I fell even more in love with this work. I call this "The Journey" because I have so many plans for the future and I hope in some way you all may be a part of them.
